loganandliz.com: the mishaps of the mr. and mrs.

Okay, so I know this post is a little late, but I feel that you’ll have a better understanding of why I’m like I am, if you meet some of my family. First, let’s start off with my godmother, Aunt Nancy.

It all started a few years back when she had this great drink we “just had to try.” Ouzo. Ouzo? What is that crap? We’d never heard of it before, but if you’ve ever drank with Nancy, you’ll know that’s not the last time we’d hear of it. Anyway, for those not in the know, it’s basically black licorice flavored nastiness in a bottle. Comparable to Jagermeister. Eww, ga-ross! So, being the smart-asses that we are, we bought her a big bottle of her favorite nastiness for Christmas 2006. A few shots were enjoyed that evening. Key word = few. I don’t think even a drop of the precious liquid was touched throughout the year, until Christmas Eve ‘07, when the very same bottle resurfaced. Only this time to be completely and utterly demolished. Even Grandpa joined in the action. Talk about a good time. However, the full tanks we were working with at Mass were not such a good time. Probably not my Mom’s proudest moment. There’s always hope for next year.

I think the next few pictures will sum up our evening pretty well. Good ol’ family bonding. Man, I miss you guys!

I present to you, Stupid Human Tricks 2007…

Apparently beer and boobie tricks run in the family. My Aunt Katie is in the first photo. Not only was she my Confirmation sponsor, but a super fun drinking buddy, and a wicked good pro football player. She’s so good in fact, that my Dad took his shirt off and ran around the stadium screaming when she nailed a field goal. Yeah, and it was only like 2 years ago. Sexy, huh? Woot, woot!

This next one, sadly, is not a trick. Look closely and you’ll see quite a frightening finger bend knuckle popped out kinda thing, but hey, we love him nonetheless. Weird finger and all.

Now, this next image needs some serious explanation. In the photo, you’ll notice what appears to be my husband getting a little too close to Aunt Nancy. In other families, this might seem a bit strange, but it’s all in good fun. They’ve both been said to get a little affectionate after a couple of drinks or “just a glass.” But seriously, someone keep an eye on these two.

I don’t know about you, but that red-head in the back looks like trouble to me, so maybe we should add him to Santa’s naughty list. Gotta love Harry Potter in the background. How cute is my Dad?

Thank goodness I only have to claim these guys on a semi-regular basis;) Can’t wait till Easter to continue the family fiesta. Maybe we can even convince Grams to join in the fun this time. Oh, and Jess…you better make it next year.  We got dibs!  It’s just not the same without you…or your naughty brothers who I love so much! Miss you all, and love you more than you’ll ever know!
