Meet my new educational hero, Lisa Murphy, fondly dubbed the “Ooey Gooey Lady.”

Fan. Tas. Tic. That’s all I can say. She is an amazing presenter, and I would imagine, and even more amazing educator. She has such an incredible amount of knowledge and passion for true early childhood education. Love her! It was funny because I thought this would be like any old Staff Development Day, and when I arrived, was at a point where I once again entertained the idea of opening Oprah’s mail for a living. Not that she’d hire me, but a girl can dream. By lunch time, I couldn’t wait to hear more. So much so that I skipped half of our lunch hour just to chat. And while the chatting part won’t surprise you, it’s important to note that I skip lunch for no one. Well, the Ooey Gooey Lady, Oprah and maybe even Logan…but only on a good day! Just kidding Bebe. But in all seriousness, I love this lady! And Oprah, when you Google yourself (cause you know you do) and come across this entry, please have her on your show. And maybe you could even throw in a pair of tickets to the show so Big D and I can finally come see you. I’m just saying.
On a semi-related topic, we bought a Mega Millions ticket for the big drawing this evening. If we win, we’re totally moving to Rochester, NY, so I can work at the Ooey Gooey Play School. Talk about a dream come true! I’d even forgo summer break to teach with this lady. Yeah, I like her that much. I’m counting down the days till my Ooey Gooey books get here. Should be any day now.
Keep your fingers crossed for a big Mega Millions win…or at least a few matching numbers so I can buy another ticket for the next drawing!
Have you changed that much and gone over to the dark side of teachers who really care and give up their break time to become better teachers????? Say it isn’t so!!!!!
