loganandliz.com: the mishaps of the mr. and mrs.

Taco Sauce. Balsamic Vinaigrette. Chocolate Syrup. Mayonnaise. Kethcup. Mustard. Dijon Honey Mustard. Strawberry Syrup. Jim Beam Steak Sauce. Strawberry Preserves. I could go on.

Earlier today, I awoke hungry. I really wanted McDonald’s breakfast, but there was a little marathon going on in our neck of the woods that had the roads shut down. I first checked the pantry, but knew that my Sunday morning hunger could not be cured by Colossal Crunch Berries or Fruity Nuggets (generic Cap ‘N Crunch or Fruity Pebbles for those keeping score at home).

I checked the freezer with a faint bit of hope that I would find a few frozen Eggo waffles, but faced defeat. I decided to check behind door number three for anything that the refrigerator could offer. It was then that I realized that Liz and I are the reigning King & Queen of Condiments.

For two people that admittedly don’t cook often–and when we do rarely explore the homemade route–the condiment to food ratio in our refrigerator is easily 10 to 1. My options were clear: I could have a Steak Sauce, Salsa & Vinaigrette sandwich on an onion roll topped with Dijon Honey Mustard or Colossal Crunch Berries. Suddenly, the latter doesn’t sound like such a bad option.
